Veteran Syracuse sportscaster Jim Lerch announced that "The Manchild Show with Boy Green" will conclude its run on The Score WSKO 1260 AM with its final episode airing this coming Friday.
according to CNYRadio.com, "Bud and the Manchild" originally launched on SportsMonster 620 (WHEN), the show featured Lerch, then WHEN’s program director and a former NewsChannel 9 sports anchor, alongside Post-Standard columnist Bud Poliquin.
The duo hosted the afternoon drive show for 17 years, continuing even after Lerch’s layoff during Clear Channel’s 2009 staff cuts.
The show relaunched on WSKO in 2010, settling into its current 10 a.m.–noon slot. Following Poliquin’s 2019 retirement, producer Paul “Boy Green” Edsen Jr. became co-host.
Reflecting on his tenure, Lerch said, “Starting this in 2002, I never imagined nearly 25 years on air.
Entertaining Syracuse’s incredible listeners through historic moments—like SU’s 2003 NCAA basketball title and Jim Boeheim’s retirement—has been my life’s joy.”
Cumulus Media has not yet announced a replacement for WSKO’s 10 a.m.–noon slot starting June 30, 2025. Stay tuned for updates.
