Cumulus Media announces that Top 40 radio station 104.3 WZYP-FM in Huntsville, AL, partnered with Landers McLarty Nissan for the successful 1st Annual Tory’s Turkey Drop, which brought 104 turkeys to 104 local families in need this Thanksgiving.

The turkeys were distributed at Lander McLarty Nissan on Monday, November 14th. Tory’s Turkey Drop is the brainchild of Tory Wuycheck, Midday Host on 104.3 WZYP-FM, who wanted to help make the holidays brighter for as many families as possible.

Wuycheck said: “With the rising cost of living, we wanted to make sure that our neighbors struggling to feed their families this year had a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks to the generosity of our partner Landers McLarty Nissan, we were able to buy and distribute 104 turkeys for area families in need.” She added: “The Turkey Drop event was set to start at 3pm on Monday, November 14th, with turkeys being passed out at 4pm. People started arriving at Landers McLarty Nissan at NOON! We were able to distribute 104 turkeys for the first 104 families in about 18 minutes.”

John Lewis, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Huntsville, said: “As a local radio station, our job is to entertain and inform the local community, but the most rewarding and important part of what we do is to give back to the community. Next up this holiday season is the 20th annual Bikes or Bust campaign, where we receive donations of bikes for children in need for Christmas - averaging 1000-2000 new bikes per year - and our annual Coats For Kids coat collection for children who otherwise would not have them this winter. I could not be prouder of Tory and the WZYP team for their continued efforts to give back to the Huntsville community!”
