Houston Radio: Morning Host Paul Gallant OUT At KILT-AM

Paul Gallant
Morning sports talk radio host Paul Gallant announced that he was let go from Entercom's SportsRadio KILT 610 AM on Tuesday, according to The Houston Chronicle.

In a video he posted on Periscope, Gallant said he had been waiting on a new contract from the station, but was told last month he "wasn't a fit on the air" at the station and might be moved to a different role, working more online.

"That didn't happen," the 30-year-old Gallant said. "I'm not sure what happened along the way. I don't know if my performance dipped, if it started to be not good, whatever the case, my time there is over, which is depressing."

SportsRadio 610 was Gallant's first full-time job after he graduated from Syracuse University. He started at the station in 2011, hosting weekend shows and filling in during weekdays, eventually moving up to having his own 7-11 p.m. weeknight timeslot "Gallant at Night." He was moved to "Mad Radio" in the mornings with co-hosts Seth Payne and Mike Meltser in May 2018. In Tuesday's video, Gallant called Payne and Meltser "my two favorite people at 610."

Gallant will still be part of "Just Saying" with John Granato and Patti Smith on local TV station KUBE 57.
