Lincoln Radio: KFRX Parts With Morning Host Matt McKay

Matt McKay
Alpha Media, the parent company of KFRX 106.3 FM in Lincoln, announced on Facebook on Friday that radio personality Matthew Rydberg, who was charged with strangulation last month, won't be returning to the radio station.

Lincoln police arrested 41-year-old Rydberg, who is known as Matt McKay on KFRX-FM's morning show in the early morning hours of April 20.

Police went to Rydberg’s home on a report of a domestic assault witnessed by two children. A 46-year-old woman reported she went to sleep in her children's room after an argument with her husband, who had been drinking, when he became angry.

Sands said the woman told police Rydberg pushed on her neck and she couldn't breathe, pushed her face, bit her nose and shoved her. She had redness and scratches.

Prosecutors on April 22 charged Rydberg with strangulation, which is a felony that carries a possible penalty of three years in prison.  His next court hearing is scheduled for May 20.
