TX Radio: Roger Garrett Returns To Country KORA

Roger Garrett
Retirement didn't last long for Roger "WWW" Garrett.

The long-time Brazos Valley radio personality has returned to his long-time home on the airwaves, KORA 98.3 FM in Bryan, Texas. Brazos Valley Communications announced Garrett was back on 98.3's morning show permanently, this after retiring late last year, but returning as a fill-in recently.

"I retired from KORA to start rogerradio.org, my Internet radio station," Garrett said in a statement. "I was asked to fill in on the KORA morning show for a couple months. Being back on air, along with our listeners' show of support led to my decision to stay with KORA long term while I operate my Internet powerhouse."

The filling-in was because Bo Woods, who was hired to replace Garrett, came down with medical issues. According to Brazos Valley Communications General Manager John Seigler, Woods remains on an extended medical leave. However, according to the Prescott News, Woods started as the morning host at a radio station in Arizona this past Monday.

"We’re so excited that Roger has agreed to return to KORA and Brazos Valley Communications to continue to entertain and serve our stations and the Brazos Valley," Seigler said in the statement. "Roger is a talented entertainer and wonderfully gifted communicator. We’re most grateful for his leadership and commitment to KORA."

While his 45-year career has taken him across the state and country, Garrett has spent 23 of those years on the radio in the Brazos Valley, including 15 with KORA.

Garrett will continue to operate rogerradio.org.
