The new show starts this week according iHM and will fill the nearly two-month vacancy caused by early December cutbacks, which forced out hosts Tony Sculfield and Nina Chantele.
Remaining from the previous morning show is Chicago-based stand-up comedian Leon Rogers, who has been with WGCI-FM for over nine years.
According to Chicagloand Radio&Media, Kendra G is making a return engagement to the market.
She last heard locally as morning show co-host on WPWX 92.3 FM from 2005-2008.
Since then, Kendra G has worked other radio markets in the east and south, most notably as morning show co-host on WVEE 103.3 FM in Atlanta and part-time radio work on SiriusXM and WQHT 97.1 FM in New York.
The lead co-host of WGCI-FM's new morning show is Kyle Santillian.
He has spent his entire career working at his hometown radio station, WJMH-FM/102 JAMZ in Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC.
He started there in 2000 as a promotions intern, before taking over as nighttime host the following year.
In 2003, he was promoted the station's morning show host, where he stayed until being forced out in July 2014.
