Rosie Perez, Nicolle Wallace Join ABC’s “The View”

After weeks of speculation, ABC has confirmed that actress Rosie Perez (“White Men Can’t Jump,” “Fearless”) and best-selling author and political commentator Nicolle Wallace will join Whoopi Goldberg and returning Rosie O’Donnell on ABC’s veteran “The View” next season.

They succeed co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, who exited last month.

Wallace, who served as communications director for George W. Bush, guest hosted three times this year; and Perez, who was not mentioned during the recent search, was a guest co-host on Feb. 28.

Media Insights reports a new behind the scenes team has taken the helm of “The View” with Bill Wolff as executive producer, Brian Balthazar as co-executive producer, Ashley S. Gorman as director and Kathleen Rajsp as senior supervising producer.

“The View” has also taken up residence in the ABC Broadcast Center with a new studio, a contemporary state-of-the-art set with an on-camera social media station and a new logo and color scheme.

The new season of “The View,” which heads into season 18, begins live on Monday, September 15 at 11 a.m. ET.
