Denver Radio: 'The Rock' Rolls On KCKK

KCKK 1510 AM / 93.7 FM (translator), one of the Denver area's many sports talk stations, has been purchased by local group Hunt Broadcasting and will immediately switch to a music format, rebranding as 93.7 The Rock, according to The Denver Post.

Janice Hunt, president of Hunt Broadcasting, said the format will feature "the greatest songs of the rock decades, from the 1960s through today."

KCKK had been airing the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche hockey games.

Chuck Buell, a longtime radio fixture formerly of WLS 89 AM  and KIMN 950 AM (now oldies KWRZ) will be afternoon drive personality.

Denver radio veterans "Jim & Woody" will handle morning drive. Denver native D.J. McCoy will host mid-days.
