The Minnesota Timberwolves and Audacy’s 830 WCCO (WCCO-AM) today announced an exclusive radio and streaming partnership beginning with the 2026-27 Timberwolves season. Under the agreement, 830 WCCO will become the organization’s new flagship radio broadcast home. The Timberwolves return to 830 WCCO for the first time since the 2022-23 campaign, following a 12-season run on the station from 2011-12 through 2022-23.
As the radio home of Timberwolves basketball, 830 WCCO will broadcast all the team’s regular season games this season. The longtime radio voice of the Wolves, Alan Horton, who has called more than 1,500 games for the organization, returns to the airwaves full-time in his milestone 20th season with the franchise. Horton has called some of the most memorable moments in Timberwolves history, including the team’s most recent runs to the Western Conference Finals in 2024 and 2025. Horton will team up with studio host Cal Soderquist to produce the 30-minute pre- and post-game shows that are featured on-air and streamed online at audacy.com/wccoradio for every game.
The agreement also includes additional programming and promotional elements throughout the year.
“We couldn’t be more excited to return to WCCO Radio,” said Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Strategy Officer Kelly Laferriere. “WCCO’s longstanding connection with fans throughout Minnesota makes it an ideal home for Timberwolves basketball, and we look forward to sharing another exciting season with listeners across the region.”
“There’s something special about hearing Minnesota basketball on the station that has been part of this community for generations, and we can’t wait to provide fans a front-row seat to all the energy, excitement and drama of another great Wolves season,” said Debbie Kenyon, Regional President, Audacy.
Other highlights of the new agreement include exclusive content and interviews by Timberwolves players, coaches and executives throughout the Audacy Minneapolis portfolio as well as larger marketing and promotional relationships.
830 WCCO’s talent includes Vineeta Sawkar, Adam Carter & Jordana Green, Chad Hartman, the radio voice of the Timberwolves from 1990 to 2006, Jason DeRusha and longtime Timberwolves/Minnesota basketball reporter Henry Lake.
The Timberwolves have also renewed its partnership with Learfield IMG College to expand reach with affiliate partners throughout Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
