TV Ratings: Fox News Continues To Lead CBS In Weekday Primetime

FOX News Channel (FNC) finished the week of September 14th with 1,941,000 weekday primetime viewers, leading CBS (1,877,000 viewers) for the 17th consecutive week, according to Nielsen Media Research Big Data + Panel. 

To date, FNC continues to beat CBS in weekday primetime viewers for the year (12/29/25 - 09/20/26), quarter (06/29/26 - 09/20/26) and month (08/31/26 - 09/20/26). The network averaged 2.8 million viewers year-to-date, 2.4 million viewers quarter-to-date and 2.1 million viewers month-to-date while CBS only claimed 2.7 million viewers year-to-date, two million viewers quarter-to-date and 1.9 million viewers month-to-date. In Monday – Sunday primetime, FNC notched 1.6 million viewers.

In Monday – Sunday total day, FNC nabbed 1.1 million viewers and 106,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo, posting growth week-to-week in the demo.

Notably, CNN saw year-over-year losses in both total day and primetime viewers. In total day, the network posted a five percent loss in total viewers (382,000 viewers) and a seven percent loss in the 25-54 demo (54,000 viewers). In primetime, CNN saw a three percent loss in viewers, claiming only 552,000 viewers. Additionally, the second episode of CBS’ 60 Minutes delivered week-to-week declines – down 15% in total viewers and 31% in the 25-54 demo. With just under 6.8 million viewers, this marks the third consecutive season in which its second episode has averaged under seven million viewers.

The Five continued to dominate cable news with total viewers, nabbing nearly 2.8 million viewers and 270,000 in the 25-54 demo. In the 6 PM/ET hour, Special Report with Bret Baier clinched almost 2 million viewers and in the 7 PM/ET hour, The Ingraham Angle notched nearly 1.9 million viewers. At 8 PM/ET, Jesse Watters Primetime landed over 2.3 million viewers while Hannity secured nearly 1.8 million viewers during the 9 PM/ET hour.

FNC’s Gutfeld! (10 PM/ET) continued to outpace the late-night competition, garnering over 2.1 million total viewers and beating NBC’s The Tonight Show (1.3 million viewers), the airings of CBS' Comics Unleashed (682,000 viewers), HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher (542,000 viewers), Comedy Central’s The Daily Show (413,000 viewers) and Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live (203,000 viewers).

FNC’s The Will Cain Show (4 PM/ET) captured 1.6 million viewers, outranking ABC’s GMA3 (1.5 million viewers) and NBC’s Today with Jenna & Sheinelle (1.3 million viewers). America’s Newsroom (9-11 AM/ET) saw nearly 1.4 million viewers and also outpaced Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. The Faulkner Focus (11 AM-12 PM/ET), Outnumbered (12-1 PM/ET), America Reports (1-3 PM/ET) and The Story with Martha MacCallum (3 PM/ET) all averaged 1.3 million viewers.

On Saturday: Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany led the weekend with 1.1 million viewers. FOX & Friends Weekend (6-10AM/ET) followed with nearly one million viewers while The Big Weekend Show (5-8 PM/ET), co-hosted by Tomi Lahren and Johnny Joey Jones, notched 888,000 viewers. In primetime, Life, Liberty, & Levin (8 PM/ET) secured 765,000 viewers, My View with Lara Trump (9 PM/ET) delivered 755,000 viewers and FOX News Saturday Night (10-11 PM/ET) hosted by Jimmy Failla clinched 908,000 viewers.

On Sunday: FOX & Friends Weekend (6-10AM/ET) claimed 869,000 viewers, Sunday Morning Futures (10 AM/ET) landed nearly 1.1 million viewers and The Sunday Briefing (11 AM/ET), anchored this week by Peter Doocy, averaged 966,000 viewers. FOX News Live (12-2 PM/ET), hosted by senior national correspondent Rich Edson, garnered 770,000 viewers while The Big Weekend Show (5-8 PM/ET) posted 761,000. In primetime, Life, Liberty, & Levin nabbed 788,000, Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy (9 PM/ET) saw 925,000 viewers and One Nation with Brian Kilmeade (10 PM/ET) clinched 729,000 viewers.
