Broadcast Industry Group LLC has agreed to sell three Arkansas AM stations and three FM translators to Blacksun Private Equity Inc. for $2 million, according to an FCC assignment application filed Monday.
The stations are
- KLRG-AM/Sheridan (880),
- KASZ-AM/White Hall (1190, formerly KJJI)
- KCAT-AM/Pine Bluff (1340), plus translators K255AX and K224FN in Pine Bluff and K233BF in Greenbrier.
An asset purchase agreement dated Aug. 18, 2026, covers substantially all station assets—licenses, equipment, towers, buildings and contracts.
Closing depends on FCC approval and other required consents. Unless the parties agree otherwise, it is set for the last business day of the month those conditions are met.
Because Pine Bluff is not a Nielsen radio market, the application uses the FCC’s contour-overlap test to show the deal meets local ownership limits. An engineering exhibit says the three AMs’ 5 mV/m daytime contours overlap and sit in a 58-station market: the three AMs plus 11 other AMs, 11 noncommercial FMs and 33 commercial FMs. The filing concludes common ownership of the three AMs is allowed.
The sale continues the reshuffling of properties tied to Monte Spearman’s HPRN Network, with Blacksun buying Broadcast Industry Group’s Arkansas cluster. The applications remain pending at the FCC.
