Houston Radio: Melissa Chase Exits Audacy as VP/Programming

Melissa Chase exited her role as Vice President of Programming for Audacy Houston on Monday, as part of a series of staff cuts within the cluster.

She joined Audacy in June 2021 as Brand Manager for Hot AC "Mix 96.5" (KHMX-FM) and Adult Hits "95.7 The Spot" (KKHH-FM), while also hosting afternoons on KHMX. In February 2023, she was promoted to VP of Programming, taking on additional responsibilities for Country "100.3 The Bull" (KILT-FM) and overseeing strategy and promotions for Audacy’s full Houston portfolio, which included Sports "SportsRadio 610" (KILT-AM), Sports Gambling "The Bet Houston" (KIKK-AM), and Spanish Hits "Mega 101" (KLOL-FM).

Her earlier career included roles as an on-air personality and Assistant Program Director for iHeartMedia across various markets, including Richmond, New Haven, Harrisonburg, Miami, and Houston, as well as production work for MTV Networks/Viacom and voiceover acting. Chase’s tenure at Audacy was marked by her leadership in programming and community engagement, earning praise for her creativity and strategic planning.

Following her exit, sources indicate that JR Ammons, Audacy’s VP of Operations and Programming for Kansas City and St. Louis, has taken on responsibilities for KHMX. No official replacement for Chase’s VP role has been announced
