White and Jones |
Jamie White, a reporter for InfoWars, was reportedly killed in a violent incident near his home in Austin, Texas, on the night of Sunday.
According to InfoWars founder Alex Jones, White was "brutally murdered" around midnight in the 2300 block of Douglas Street, a residential area in South Austin. The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a call at approximately 11:57 p.m. and found an adult male—later identified by Jones as White—with "obvious signs of trauma." The victim was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. This incident marked Austin’s eighth homicide of 2025, as reported by local outlets like FOX 7 Austin.
Jones described White as one of InfoWars’ best reporters and a dedicated individual who "loved to fight tyranny" and "promote freedom." He claimed that White had been working late at the InfoWars studio that night and was attacked outside his apartment, just a few miles from the studio.
Jones and InfoWars issued a statement expressing deep sadness, asserting that White’s death was partly due to the policies of Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, whom they labeled as "Soros-backed." They vowed that his death "will not be in vain" and that his work would continue through the outlet. The APD has not officially confirmed the victim’s identity or the exact cause of death, stating only that the investigation is in its early stages and being handled as a homicide. No suspects have been publicly identified.
Jones used the incident to criticize Garza, accusing him of contributing to a climate of crime in Austin through progressive policies, such as reduced prosecution of offenders, which he linked to funding from billionaire George Soros. He also pointed to broader issues like police budget cuts and staffing shortages.
White’s death has drawn attention amid InfoWars’ ongoing controversies, including Jones’ legal battles over defamation lawsuits related to Sandy Hook, which have left the outlet financially strained. The incident has also fueled reactions on platforms like X, where some users tie it to political tensions, though such sentiments lack substantiation from official sources. As of now, the investigation continues, and further details from the APD are pending.
