Mobile-area radio personality Lee Ann Camp has died after a battle with cancer that started this fall, family members and co-workers confirmed on Monday.

Radio host Gene Murrell posted on the 92Zew Facebook page that Camp had passed on Monday morning while surrounded by family. “There are no words to express how much she will be missed,” he wrote.

AL.com reports Camp and her husband, Tim Camp, have long been fixtures at Alternative WZEW-FM 92.1, an independently owned Mobile station known for its eclectic Triple-A format. Both have filled a variety of positions on-air blocks at the station, including a morning show called TLC (Tim and Lee Ann Camp) featuring both. The couple’s children are 12 and 15.

Her illness was first publicly revealed on Dec. 1: She had begun experiencing back pain in late September and initially believed it to be caused by muscle strain from Hurricane Sally cleanup work. But it worsened and tests established she was suffering from advanced cancer.

By Dec. 1 she had been move to intensive care. According to a GoFundMe drive launched to help her family with medical expenses, she was later moved to hospice care.
