Harrisburg Radio: iHM Drops Nancy & Newman For Bobby Bones

Nancy & Newman

The “Nancy & Newman” morning show on Country WRBT Bob 94.9 WRBT has been dropped in favor of importing the syndicated Bobby Bones Show.  The change means the end for Nancy Ryan and Bob Newman, who is also the WRBT PD,  who have been paired on-air for about 20-years.

Ryan’s departure is part of iHeartMedia’s ongoing layoffs. Reportedly Newman’s status “is up in the air.” The BOB Morning Show  has been scrubbed from The BOB Website, which appears as generic as every other iHM website.

Although Newman is still listed as the morning host, he has posted a comment to his Facebook page, saying “You Are Being Lied To” without explaining what he meant in specific terms, according to pennlive.com.

Ryan has been co-hosting (originally with the late Todd Jefers) the morning show since the “station flipped to Country” in late 1996. Her resume includes having previously worked at Oldies “Kool 94.9″ and later “Kool 99.3″ WWKL in Harrisburg. She also had a brief stint at 97.1 WBNS-FM in Columbus, Ohio.

Newman joined the show in 2001 with his on-air name coming from being “Bob’s New Man”. He eventually was promoted to program director in 2017.
