Mike Greenberg's New ESPN Morning Show Debuts In April
Mike Greenberg’s much-anticipated ESPN weekday morning show, “Get Up,” has an official start date.
Featuring the former “Mike & Mike” cohost along with Michelle Beadle and Jalen Rose, “Get Up” is set to debut April 2 from a newly built studio at New York’s South Street Seaport, according to The Chicago Tribune.
The show will air live on ESPN from 6 to 9 a.m., with a rerun set for 9 a.m. on ESPN2.
The launch originally was announced for the start of the year, but delays readying the studio were blamed for the postponement.
“Get Up” will dive into an already packed field of national morning TV shows with Disney corporate sibling ABC’s “Good Morning America,” NBC’s “Today” and “CBS This Morning” all originating from Manhattan, not to mention cable programs such as MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” and CNN’s “New Day.”
“Sports fans start their days with sports and with ESPN,” Bill Wolff, ESPN’s vice president of studio production, said in the announcement. “Our programming is based on two tenets — personality and authority. In both areas, Michelle, Greeny and Jalen are stars, which is why we’re so excited for ‘Get Up.’”
