Las Vegas Radio: KLUC's Chet Buchanan Awarded Humanitarian Award

Chet Buchanan
CBS RADIO Las Vegas is excited to congratulate KLUC 98.5 FM morning show host Chet Buchanan on receiving “The Best of the Silver State XIV” Humanitarian Award.

Not only does Chet spend countless hours with dozens of charities throughout Southern Nevada, he also sits on the Board of Trustees for HELP of Southern Nevada, Board of Directors for VARIETY – The Children’s Charity and the Board of Trustees for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada and hosts the annual Chet Buchanan Candlelighters 5k “Race For Our Kids”.

“It’s an honor to be recognized, but this is truly an award to be shared with my 98.5 KLUC family, as well as with my many friends, corporate partners and the people I am humbled to serve with every day, who simply want to do something good. Not to mention my beautiful, long suffering and extremely patient wife,” said Buchanan.

All of Chet’s yearly charity work lead to 12 days in December, where he lives atop a 30 foot scaffold for the 98.5 KLUC Chet Buchanan & the Morning Zoo Toy Drive, the largest single location Toy Drive in America, which to date, during its 17 years, has raised over an estimated 15 million dollars in toys, bikes, gift card and cash donations.

“We at CBS Radio Las Vegas are honored to work alongside Chet Buchanan and his tireless efforts to help charities achieve their fundraising goals for the past 17 years,” commented Tony Perlongo, CBS Radio Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Las Vegas.

Honoring excellence and achievement, The Silver State Awards are presented by the TMG Entertainment Network. The Silver State XIV awards will be presented on July 23rd, 2016.
