Sports-talk station WJOX 94.5 FM will debut a new radio show Wednesday hosted by Joe Hunk and Jon Lunceford.
Their show, "Jox PrimeTime," will air weekdays from 6 to 8 p.m., following Paul Finebaum's show, and it replaces the "Matt & Scot" show, which was hosted by Matt McClearin and Scot Harrison. WJOX canceled that show, which ran for 3½ years, last week.
"It's going to continue to be live and local," David Walls, vice president/market manager for WJOX parent company Cumulus Birmingham, said of the new "Jox PrimeTime" show. "It's going to be a lot of energy."
According to al.com, Lunceford, who played on two state high school championship football teams and later at Birmingham Southern-College, has worked in newspaper and radio for about a decade. He produces on-air high school sports coverage for WJOX, and earlier this year, he started the JoxPreps podcast.
