$400,000 was raised at the Broadcasters of America 2016 Golden Mike Award dinner honoring Bob Pittman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of iHeartMedia, Inc.

More than 325 radio and television executives attended the fundraiser at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on Monday evening in support the Foundation’s charitable mission of helping broadcasters in need.

The gala was hosted by Elvis Duran, host of Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, which originates on iHeart Media’s WHTZ Z-100 in New York and nationally syndicated on more than 80 radio stations across the country.

The evening’s presenters were Jarl Mohn, President and Chief Executive Officer of NPR, and John Sykes, President of iHeartMedia Entertainment Enterprises. Dan Mason, past President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS RADIO and Vice Chairman of the Broadcasters Foundation, presented the Award.

The 2016 Dick Clark Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed on legendary broadcaster Charles Osgood, anchor of the Emmy Award winning CBS Sunday Morning and The Osgood File on the CBS Radio Network. Unable to attend the event due to recent surgery, Osgood’s colleague from CBS Sunday Morning, humorist Mo Rocca, accepted the Award on Osgood’s behalf.

The Broadcasters Foundation of America has distributed millions of dollars in aid to thousands of broadcasters and their families who lost their livelihood through a catastrophic event, debilitating disease, or unforeseen family tragedy. Donations can be made as a personal gift to the Foundation’s Guardian Fund, and corporate contributions are accepted through the Angel Initiative.

In addition, a bequest may be made through the Foundation’s Legacy Society. For more information, please visit www.broadcastersfoundation.org, or call 212-373-8250
