L-A Radio: KFWB Teams Zelasko With Bill Plaschke

Bill Plaschke, Los Angeles Times columnist, has team up with veteran sports personality Jeanne Zelasko to host an all-new morning show airing weekdays from 6 – 9 a.m. on KFWB 980 AM The Beast.

Plaschke joins a Beast 980 primetime lineup of hometown favorites that emanates entirely from Southern California.  “Plaschke and Zelasko” will be followed by “The Jim Rome Show” from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and “The Fred Roggin Show,” starring The Dean of L.A. Sports, from 12 – 3 p.m.

“I look forward to connecting with the community in a new and exciting way, melding the strength of the L.A. Times with the swagger of The Beast 980,” said Plaschke, who is entering his 20th year as a Times sports columnist.

“Plaschke and Zelasko will be one of the most dynamic and freshest morning shows not only on sports radio but on L.A. radio in general,” said Tom Lee, The Beast 980 program director. “Bill is the ultimate fit for the one sports station truly devoted to Los Angeles fans and it will be exciting to get three hours of him every day.”

A popular sports journalist and insider, Zelasko has anchored The Beast 980 morning show since it launched in 2014. Before that, she spent several years as a host and sideline reporter for FOX Sports, both nationally and regionally, covering the NFL, MLB and NASCAR. Zelasko thinks she and Plaschke will form a unique team inspired by contrasting, yet passionate points of view, saying “Bill’s candid and insightful commentaries make him one of the leading opinion makers in L.A.”
