Charles Evan Crane, DDS. died September 27th at his home
in Sarasota ,
Fl. He was 58 years old.
Radio reporter Vince Santarelli writes Crane was the mid-day guy at Z-100 back when they first
went on the air in August of 1983. On-air, he used the name Dr. Christopher
Reed. He also became the operations director in January of 1984.
In June of 1984, he left Z-100 and travelled to Chicago where he became
the program director of WLS. The on September 29, 1986, he came back to New York to become the
program director at WYNY. This was during their AC years and he would leave
WYNY right before the switch to country.
