Westwood One Names John Wordock Podcasting Executive Editor

Westwood One has announced the hire of John Wordock in the newly-created role of Executive Editor, Podcasting.

In this position, John is responsible for content strategy and development for Westwood One Podcast Network. He is based in New York City, reporting directly to Suzanne Grimes, President of Westwood One.

Wordock joins Westwood One from The Wall Street Journal, where he most recently served as Executive Producer, Podcasts. In this position, he grew total monthly audience over 2000%, guided the multi-department team that launched the chart-topping podcast The Future of Everything, and developed many other successful shows from planning to distribution.

An award-winning editor and producer, Wordock is no stranger to Westwood One, having served as Executive Editor of The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch.com Radio Networks, which were at one time syndicated by the network. Prior to The Wall Street Journal, John held positions at CBS MarketWatch, the Associated Press, and Bloomberg TV.

“As the fastest organically-growing podcast network in the U.S. in 2018, Westwood One is thrilled to welcome John to the leadership team,” said Grimes. “With almost 15 years of experience in podcast development, production, and distribution, coupled with his journalistic roots, John will help us expand our content portfolio with a commitment to quality and scale.”

Wordock said, “I’m honored to be joining a company with such a robust history and strong commitment to audio. I look forward to working closely with Suzanne Grimes and the team as we continue to fuel the meteoric growth of Westwood One Podcast Network.”
