Twin City Radio: KDWB-FM Suspends Dave Ryan For Bad Bit

Veteran market personality Dave Ryan is absent from his show on Monday after a controversial segment aired last Friday on 101.3 KDWB-FM. 

During the segment, called “Super Blow,” Ryan and his co-hosts snorted powdered food items like flour, sugar, coffee creamer, and pumpkin spice as part of a Super Bowl trivia game. Listeners, including Sylvia Orth, described the setup resembling lines of cocaine, with hosts snorting a line for each wrong answer. 

The segment made it seem like the hosts were simulating the act of snorting lines of cocaine. Each time a host got a question wrong, they had to snort one of the lines. Although it was mostly scrubbed, the YouTube recording still had some mention of the snorting game as of Monday evening.

Following the game, co-host Bailey Hess sneezes, to which Ryan replies: “Bless you, Bailey, have we been snorting something?”  Hess says she sneezed because of the coffee creamer she snorted.

The segment was later edited out of the YouTube recording, though traces remained, including a moment where co-host Bailey Hess sneezed from the coffee creamer and Ryan quipped about it.

By Monday, Ryan was suspended for “inappropriate content,” as announced by iHeartRadio’s Rich Davis in a message played throughout the show. 

The station didn’t explicitly confirm the snorting game as the cause.
Ryan, known for his bold and sometimes provocative style, hasn’t commented, and KDWB hasn’t responded to inquiries.
