Audacy Stations Prove Country Radio Cares For Kids

Eight Audacy stations teamed up to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.®

Collectively, through a unified “Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon” series, the stations raised over $2.8 million for the hospital. The radiothon underscores Audacy’s ongoing relationship with St. Jude and the company’s long-standing commitment to children’s health and giving children a stronger voice for a better life. With this year’s total, Audacy and its stations have now contributed over $100 million to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 1988.

Between December 8 and 9, U.S. 101 (WUSY-FM) in Chattanooga, US99 (WUSN-FM) and 104.3 Jams (WBMX-FM) in Chicago, 99.5 WYCD (WYCD-FM) in Detroit, KMLE Country 107.9 (KMLE-FM) in Phoenix, Y108 (WDSY-FM) in Pittsburgh, 103.7 KSON (KSON-FM) in San Diego and Froggy 101 (WGGY-FM) in Wilkes-Barre held on-air radiothons, asking listeners to become Partners In Hope and contribute monthly donations. The $2.8 million raised will help ensure St. Jude patients and their families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, housing, travel or food. This allows them to focus their full energy and attention on recovery.

“I want to thank every Audacy Country team member who contributed to this year’s campaign to fight childhood cancer with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,” said Tim Roberts, Country Format Vice President, Audacy. “Our collective radiothons across the country truly underscore the influence radio can have in the local communities it serves and I’m extremely proud of the selfless contributions from our listeners, contributions that will help St. Jude carry on its mission to eradicate pediatric cancer.”
