'History of R&R' Wins Major Honor At NY Festival

G Networks and Reserve Productions LCC have announced that their two-hour weekly syndicated series, The History of Rock ‘N’ Roll – hosted by the legendary Wink Martindale – has won the Bronze, the highest award in the Best Regularly Scheduled Music Program Category in the New York Festivals competition.

World-class audio entries from 24 different countries around the globe were judged by the 2022 New York Festivals Radio Awards Grand Jury of 200+ producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals and judged on the following criteria: production values, creativity, content presentation, direction, writing, achievement of purpose and audience suitability. The winners were announced earlier this week at New York Festivals 2022 Storytellers Gala on April 26.

The History of Rock ‘n’ Roll is a two-hour weekly look back at the songs and the stars who made the music magic. Each themed episode spotlights yet another aspect of rock and pop history – from ‘Leading Ladies of the ’80s’ to ‘The ’60s Greatest Dance Hits,’ from ‘Singer-Songwriters of the ’70s’ to ‘The Best of Folk-Rock,’ from ‘The Magic of Motown’ to ‘The Number One Hits of 1980,’ and from ‘The Beach Boys Story’ to ‘Inside Beatlemania’.

Since 1957, The New York Festivals Radio Awards has celebrated excellence and innovation across all genres and platforms, keeping pace with industry-wide developments and global trends. The mission of the competition is to honor the achievements of the men and women who make up the global audio storytelling community.

G Networks exclusively syndicates The History of Rock ‘n’ Roll throughout North America. For more information visit https://gognetworks.com/entertainment/the-history-of-rock-n-roll/ on the G Networks website.
