R.I.P.: Tim Kennedy, Ohio Radio Personality

The staff of Classic Rock WQEL Q92.7 FM in Bucyrus, OH has announced the death of their afternoon radio personality, Tim “The Senator” Kennedy. He passed away at his home April 2, 2019. He was 51.

Tim joined the WQEL airwaves in the fall of 2017.

WQEL Operations Manager Eric Faulds said, “Tim just had this passion to entertain people and to help them have a better day. He was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to his show, because he always wanted to give our listeners his very best. I very much admired his dedication.”

Beginning his broadcast career in 1985, Tim worked behind the mic at stations across the radio dial, including WNCI 97.9 -Columbus, WXGT 92X (WCOL) -Columbus, WMRN AM/FM -Marion, and WVXG 95X -Mt Gilead.

WQEL General Manager Kim Jenney said, “He had such a happy and sweet spirit. He touched all our lives in a positive way. We will carry on his spirit every day in our hearts and through our airwaves.”

WQEL is a part of the North Central Ohio Media Group, a division of Franklin Communications, along with Country Legends 1540AM/107.5FM WBCO and Crawford County Now.
