Entries Open For World's Best Imager

Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, voiceover, programming and jingles, announces a call for entries for its 8th annual Iron Imager Contest, the international radio imaging contest where audio production professionals compete for the title of World’s Best Imager. The first and only competition of its kind, the Iron Imager contest is open for submissions today through the Round 1 Submission Deadline of Monday, February 25, 2019 (12:00pm/NOON Pacific). The Iron Imager Contest is open to all radio imaging, production and programming professionals 18 and older, and will be judged by top producers and programmers from the U.S. and around the world.

The 2019 Iron Imager Contest will culminate in a live imaging competition at WWRS 2019 on March 27-29 at Castaway in Burbank, CA, the Media Capital of the World. This year’s Iron Imager will pit 2018 Iron Imager Champion, UK audio imaging professional Sam Wickens, Assistant Audio Producer for Capital FM, against this year’s contender for the title of World’s Best Imager.

Challengers will demonstrate their imaging skills using audio ingredients from Benztown’s production libraries, paired with contestants’ original scripts. Benztown has also committed additional resources to enhance challengers’ submissions, offering for free the voice talents of many of Benztown’s newest world-class voice talent, including: Joe Alan, Corri English, John Hunerlach, Lisa Keys, Kelly Malone and Paula Tiso.

Dave “Chachi” Denes, Benztown President, said: “Imaging professionals, polish your keyboards and trackballs and get ready to battle it out in Burbank! We are thrilled to welcome 2018 Iron Imager Champion, Sam Wickens, who crosses the pond to defend his title as World’s Best Imager. We invite all imagers who think they have the chops to claim the 2019 Iron Imager belt to throw their mic in the ring and bring it to Burbank for this 8th annual live throwdown of the most formidable imagers on the planet!”

Sam Wickens, Iron Imager 2018 Champion and Assistant Audio Producer for Capital FM in London, said: “I can't wait to get back to Los Angeles to test myself against one of the world's best imagers again. Last year was an incredible experience and I'm so lucky I've got the chance to do it once more. I've grown quite attached to having the belt, though, so I'll definitely be fighting for the win!"
