Wausau Radio: Autopsy Of WYTE's Stevi "Inconclusive"

The autopsy for a local radio host who died mysteriously while celebrating her wedding anniversary at a Northwoods cabin found no obvious cause of death, reports the Stevens Point Journal.

Stevi
Stephanie Ollinger, a 31-year-old broadcaster known by her on-air name Stevi, died Saturday morning "following a sudden illness," according to a news release from her employer, NRG Media. She was one of the voices of WYTE 106.5 FM.

Ollinger and her husband, John Harry, were celebrating their two-year anniversary when he came into the cabin and found her "already gone," said NRG Media General Manager Kurt Luchs.

Her autopsy was performed Monday, but the results were inconclusive, according to Vilas County Coroner Paul Tirpe. Toxicology reports are expected to take weeks to complete, but Ollinger did not have anything obvious in her medical history to explain her death, Tirpe said.

Ollinger's death is not believed to be suspicious, Tirpe said.

Ollinger was involved in a two-car crash Thursday afternoon on Portage County R in the town of Plover, according to a crash report obtained Tuesday by USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.

Ollinger was wearing a seatbelt and had “no apparent injury” from the crash, according to the report. Her vehicle’s airbags didn’t deploy, but her vehicle was towed from the scene because of damage from the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was ticketed for following too closely, according to the report.

Nothing in the report indicated Ollinger suffered from any medical conditions before or after the crash. The results of the autopsy also found no link between the crash and her death, Tirpe said.
