Former Phillies great John Kruk is out at ESPN after 12 years as one of their most prominent MLB analysts.

"ESPN and I have mutually agreed to part ways. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for me and my family," Kruk said on Twitter Monday night.

Kruk, a member of the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame, joined ESPN as an MLB analyst on Baseball Tonight in 2004. He retired from baseball in 1995 after a 10-year career with the Phillies, San Diego Padres and the Chicago White Sox. The three-time All-Star ended his career with a .300 batting average, 100 home runs and 592 runs batted in.

“ESPN and John Kruk have mutually agreed to end our relationship at this time,” ESPN said in a statement given to philly.com. “We’re thankful to John for his memorable contributions to our baseball coverage over the years — a run which included roles on our signature MLB franchises ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ and ‘Baseball Tonight.’ We wish John all the best.”

Prior to his career with ESPN, Kruk spent time as an analyst with Comcast SportsNet and Sports Talk 950 AM WPEN (which later became 97.5 The Fanatic)..

Kruk's departure is the latest on what has become a rotating door at ESPN. At least Kruk was apparently able to leave on his own terms, unlike Phillies teammate Curt Schilling, who was fired back in April over political comments he made on social media.

No word on what Kruk’s next role will be.
