Longtime broadcasting exec Tom Schurr will now be able to spend more time with his family.   The abrasive Schurr reportedly had a confronation Thursday with new Cumulus CEO Mary Berner. Guess who lost.

He was hired as SVP/Operations in March 2015, reporting to Lew Dickey, then-President and CEO at Cumulus.

In his position with Cumulus, Schurr iversaw Cumulus station operations in multiple U.S. markets, including Dallas and Houston, along with additional market responsibilities.

Schurr was previously President of Operations for Clear Channel/iHeart Media, with direct responsibility for all major market operations across the U.S. While at Clear Channel/iHeart Media, Schurr managed markets including Houston and Dallas, and as a regional operations executive over the South East and East Regions, was responsible for the oversight of 100 markets and 500 stations. Prior to that, he held Vice President/Market Manager posts in Houston and Louisville, KY, for Jacor Communications, and was Vice President/Market Manager for Citicasters in Sacramento.
