Memphis Radio: WXMX AM CoHost Zeke Logan Battles Cancer

Zeke Logan
Zeke Logan, half of the popular morning radio team on Rock WXMX 98.1 FM / The Max, is suffering from cancer, his on-air partner Drake Hall announced on the station Wednesday morning.

According to The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Logan has been missing from the morning show for several weeks leading to speculation about his health. Hall’s announcement indicated his longtime co-host was diagnosed with the unspecified cancer about two months ago.

“It’s not going well,” Hall said apparently becoming emotional.

The team has been a mainstay on Memphis rock stations for 27 years, routinely being voted best local radio personalities by local publications, including The Commercial Appeal.

Originally an afternoon drive-time show on Rock 103, Drake and Zeke left the station in December, 2004 reportedly looking for a morning time slot. Hall had been with the station since 1988 and Logan, who started as an intern contributing to Hall’s show, was paired with the disc jockey.

After about six months off the air, the pair resurfaced with a 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. show on WXMX-FM 98.1 the Max after the station changed formats.
