D/FW Radio: George Cooks Named Ops Director At KKDA

George Cook
Service Broadcasting/Dallas has announced George Cook is not Director of Operations for Urban KKDA 104.5 FM / K104.

The new three year deal also keeps "Geo" at KKDA's Brand Manager and Program Director.  He succeeds industry veteran Michael Erickson, who recently died after a 3-year battle with lung cancer.

Cook will lead and develop content, branding and programming for K104, Urban AC KRNB-FM, MYK104.com, KRNB.com and Service Broadcasting's multiple platforms.

"Geo possesses a unique feel and understanding of pop culture, urban lifestyle and our formats that are unparalleled," said Service Broadcasting owner Hymen Childs. "Under his direction, K104 has achieved its highest ratings in PPM and our digital platforms have seen record-setting levels of engagement and growth. He has created amazing artist experiences and 'live and local' content for our listeners including DeDe in the Morning. Geo's promotion is well-deserved."

"K104 and Smooth R&B 105.7 are two of the premiere Hip-Hop and R&B platforms on the planet," added Cook. "I am ecstatic about this opportunity to build our brands and lead our talented team to further success and provide greater service to the fast-growing Dallas-Ft. Worth communities. I want to thank owner Hymen Childs, VP/Director/Sales Steve Watkins, Director/Marketing Frances Davis and everyone in our organization for their passion, partnership and support over the past four years and going forward."
