Sactown Radio: KHTK Names Richie Carni As New PD


Bonneville International has promoted Richie Carni, currently Assistant Program Director at KKFN (104.3 The Fan) and KEPN (ESPN 1600) in Denver, to Program Director of KHTK (Sactown Sports 1140) in Sacramento. The move, an internal promotion within the company, takes effect March 30, 2026. 

Carni succeeds Jose Gonzalez in the role.Sacramento SVP/Market Manager Jim Richmond announced the hire, stating: "It's such a thrill to get someone of Richie's talent to join our team at Sactown Sports.

Richie has proven his value as a leader, talent coach and new media driver in Denver. I'm confident that he will lead us to new heights in Sacramento.

Carni joined Bonneville Denver in 2017 as a board operator and advanced to Executive Producer for the midday show Stokley and Zach and the afternoon show The Drive. He was promoted to APD in 2022. His sports broadcasting career began in 2015 as an intern and production assistant for Michigan-based broadcaster Jack Ebling on The Drive with Jack.

Sactown Sports 1140, flagship for the Sacramento Kings, features a refreshed weekday lineup focused on local programming from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT. This lineup, implemented in early 2026, emphasizes Kings coverage, regional teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A's (now in transition), SF Giants, Sacramento Republic FC, and broader NFL, NBA, and MLB discussions.

Weekday On-Air Schedule (Monday–Friday)
  • 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.: The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross — Morning drive hosted by Carmichael Dave and Jason Ross, delivering breaking news, analysis, and fan interaction.
  • 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: The Matt & Kayla Show — Midday program launched in January 2026, co-hosted by Matt George (deep Kings expertise and national perspective) and Kayla Anderson, blending local insight with engaging commentary.
  • 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: The Drive Guys — Afternoon drive show with Kevin "Whitey" Gleason and Allen Stiles (who joined as co-host in January 2026), offering strong opinions, guest interviews, and drive-time energy.
Evenings and overnights typically include syndicated content (e.g., CBS Sports Radio), specialty shows, or live game broadcasts.
