Reward Money Increased To $1M For Nancy Guthrie

Savannah Guthrie, the "Today" show co-anchor, announced Tuesday that her family is offering up to $1 million in reward money for information leading to the recovery of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was abducted from her home north of Tucson, Arizona, more than three weeks ago on February 1.

This family reward adds to the existing FBI reward of $100,000 (for a potential combined total of $1.1 million), and both would be paid for tips that lead to locating Nancy Guthrie. In an emotional four-minute Instagram video posted Tuesday morning, Savannah Guthrie acknowledged the possibility that her mother may already be dead—"she may already be gone"—but emphasized the family is "still holding out hope for a miracle" and needs to know her whereabouts either way."

If you've been waiting and you haven't been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward," she said.

"Tell what you know, and help us bring our beloved mom home, so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming, or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she has lived."

The family is also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to support other families facing similar situations. Guthrie urged the public to extend attention to those less high-profile cases as well.

Nancy Guthrie was taken "in the dark of night from her bed" early February 1. Investigators, including the FBI and local authorities, have received tens of thousands of tips but released limited details. Key evidence includes 44 seconds of doorbell camera footage showing a masked, armed man approaching her door shortly before the abduction.

Authorities believe she was taken against her will, though no suspect has been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the case.
