According to the WKOK website, McGranaghan came to the Susquehanna Valley in 1977 as General Manager of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation’s radio stations. He was on NewsRadio 1070 WKOK, hosting On the Mark, just two days prior.
The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters named McGranaghan “Broadcaster of the Year” in 1994 and inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 2011.
In 2009, McGranaghan became mayor of Shamokin Dam. Prior to that, McGranaghan was a member of the borough council for 20 years and at one time served as president. He also was president of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and president of the Susquehanna Industrial Development Corp.
