R.I.P.: Charlie Mitchell, Former WDSY Pittsburgh Radio Personality

Charlie Mitchell, a veteran Pittsburgh radio presence, has died. He was 65.  Mitchell, of Burgettstown, Washington County, worked at country station WDSY-FM from 1992 to 2004 and later worked part-time at the station.

"Charlie Mitchell was a brilliant radio personality and voice talent, but most importantly, a true friend," said former WDSY DJ Chris DeCarlo, who now works for WIND-FM in Florida. "I already miss his voice, his laugh and his long stories."

"He adored his family, cherished his friends, and I feel blessed and honored to have been among them."

Former WDSY morning show host Jimmy Roach said in a Facebook post, "To describe Charlie would take a few pages, so I’ll just say we were all made better by knowing him."
