Miami Radio: Third Talker Exits Radio Mambi

Nelson Rubio, host of a popular Spanish-language radio show on Miami’s Radio Mambí WAQI 710 AM, confirmed Tuesday morning that he will be leaving the conservative talk radio station, immediately. 

The Miami Herald reports Rubio, who was not on air Tuesday morning during his normal time slot, said he will join fellow former Radio Mambí hosts Lourdes Ubieta and Dania Alexandrino at Americano Media, a conservative Spanish-language news organization created in March 2022. 

The news organization has been aggressively pursuing hosts who say they are refusing to work for a station being acquired by Latino Media Network, according to Fox News Digital, which first reported Rubio’s exit. 

Rubio told the Herald that he’ll be hosting a new morning show at Americano Media from 6 to 9 a.m., and he’ll be the director of news for the organization.
