R.I.P.: Eric Christensen, Cape Cod Radio Employee Found Murdered

Eric Christensen
People who live in a quiet neighborhood are worried after someone shot and killed 50-year-old Cape Cod Radio employee Eric Christensen of Hyannis. He was found with three gunshot wounds to his head.

Investigators tell Boston 25 Christensen was shot inside his home. Another neighbor says he heard three gunshots. The man who lives next door to him saw and heard the commotion after those shots were fired.

“I had spoken with a neighbor who did say they heard three gunshots and then we witnessed the ambulance coming down,” said Neil Maloney, who lives a few houses away.

Investigators tell Boston 25 that police got a 911 call. Once inside they found Christensen on the kitchen floor with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Maloney was also shaken by the shooting now being investigated as a murder.

Christensen’s roommate was apparently home when he was shot. He is not under arrest.

Gallant also says Christensen was friendly but kept to himself and that he worked for a local radio station.

The general manager at Cape Cod Radio sent Boston 25 this statement:

“Eric was a valued part of our promotions team and station family for several years. We are deeply shaken by this tragic event. " said Tim Levesque, the general manager of Cape Cod Radio.

A spokesperson for the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office says this incident remains under investigation.
