More Allegations Against Cuomo Expected

CNN's media correspondent has suggested that there could be more bad news for fired anchor Chris Cuomo, confirming that allegations of sexual misconduct did play a part in his ouster and claiming he 'was continually causing headaches for management'.

The Daily Mail reports Brian Stelter in his Sunday morning show on CNN said that Cuomo's firing the day before was both due to his failure to be transparent about his involvement in his brother's efforts to save his political career, and allegations that week of sexual misconduct.

And Stelter said on Sunday night said that there could be further revelations coming, with fresh accusations against Cuomo's ex NY Governor brother Andrew emerging after initial accusers came forward.

'Reporters at The New York Times and other outlets have pursued tips about Cuomo in the past, and the info about (Cuomo accuser's lawyer) Debra Katz's client was first reported by the NYT late Saturday.

'Katz did not respond to my requests for comment on Sunday. A spokesperson for Cuomo said, "these apparently anonymous allegations are not true."'

Stelter added: 'Jodi Kantor, who co-bylined the NYT reporting, observed that "this means that both Cuomo brothers have lost their positions in the wake of #metoo accusations..."'

Stelter also, in his evening newsletter, explained the pressure the allegations heaped on their star anchor.

'This was a case of death-by-a-thousand-cuts,' Stelter said.

'Cuomo was continually causing headaches for management and for CNN writ large. And the headaches were certain to continue...'

The allegations were made by a colleague from his time at ABC News, where Cuomo worked from 2006-13.

The unnamed woman's lawyer, Debra Katz, went to CNN executives on Wednesday - the day after Cuomo was 'suspended indefinitely' by the network for giving his brother Andrew's team far more extensive assistance than he had admitted.
