FNC's Laura Ingraham Calls Out The Washington Post
Fox News Personality Laura Ingraham this week called out what she sees as a "clear-cut double standard" in the media's coverage of allegations of sexual assault by conservatives compared to liberals.
Ingraham specifically referred to The Washington Post, which broke the story of Christine Blasey Ford's accusations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh last year.
"If you are looking for yet another stark example of media hypocrisy, look no further than The Washington Post," she said, pointing out the paper did not publish accusations against the lieutenant governor of Virginia, Justin Fairfax.
Fairfax (D) is accused of sexually assaulting a woman during the 2004 Democratic National Convention, but he denies the claim.
The Post defended itself by saying it found no similar complaints "in phone calls to people who knew Fairfax from college, law school and through political circles," and thus they did not run the story.
"Without that, or the ability to corroborate the woman’s account — in part because she had not told anyone what happened — The Post did not run a story."
Former Ronald Reagan adviser Jeffrey Lord said on The Ingraham Angle that the Post's political double-standard has been ongoing for quite some time.
"There's the sin of commission, in which they will go after somebody like Brett Kavanaugh, and then there's the sin of omission, in which they will not go [after] the appropriate liberal," he said. "They do it all the time."
