Sliwa will continue as Co-Host of “The Curtis and Kuby Show” on 77 WABC, which airs weekdays from Noon-3:00 p.m.
Sliwa’s award-winning 24-year career in talk radio includes 20 years at 77 WABC Radio. He joined 77 WABC in 1991 and teamed with talk radio personality Ron Kuby in 1996 to co-host the station’s morning show.
The dynamic news talk duo went on to launch their afternoon show, “The Curtis and Kuby Show” on 77 WABC in 2014. Sliwa was named to the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2013. He is widely known as the founder and force behind the Guardian Angels, a grassroots volunteer organization empowering individuals to assume local responsibility for the safety of their communities. Known by their signature red berets, the Guardian Angels expanded from New York City to become an international phenomenon that continues to flourish in over 140 cities in 14 countries.
Craig Schwab, Program Director for 77 WABC Radio said: “Like all of our hosts, Curtis is a larger than life personality, trusted by New York listeners. Adding this program to his great work on “The Curtis and Kuby Show” is a natural fit for his exceptional abilities.”
Sliwa said: “My job will be to take people from their suites to the streets and re-connect them with everything that has transpired while they've been working their 9 to 5 jobs.”
