Milwaukee Radio: WRIT Scores In June

Classic Hits WRIT 95.7 FM, branding as Oldies 95.7, climbed to No. 1 (6+ AQH Total Week) with a 10.1 share in June, according to Nielsen Audio ratings released Friday by Nielsen.

The iHeartMedia station has seen steady monthto-month growth for most of this year, posting a 7.0 share in March and 7.8 in April.

WRIT was tied for No. 1 in the market with clustermate WMIL 106.1 FM in the May ratings period with a 9.5 share 6+.

Country WMIL ranked No. 2 in the June period, which ran from May 21 to June 17, with an 8.4 share, down from a 10.5 share in April and 10.7 in March.

The station got some new competition during the ratings period when Scripps WKTI 94.5 FM switched to country music May 29. In June, WKTI had a 3.4 share of the audience, ranking No. 12 overall, up from a 2.9 share the previous month and 3.3 in April.

At No. 3, News/Talk WTMJ 620 AM posted an 8.0 share in June, down 0.4 from the previous month. AC WMYX 99.1 FM came in at No. 4, with a 6.7 share, up from 6.4 in May, and Classic Rock WKLH 96.5 FM, which in April tweaked its classic-rock format and rebranded it as "Hometown Rock," was fifth, with a 5.7 share, up 0.2 from May.
