ESPN Radio Streaming, Downloads Increase Significantly

ESPN Radio Network Streaming garnered more than 2.5 billion total listening minutes in the second quarter of 2015, up 31 percent from 2014. ESPN On Demand (podcasts) netted more than 90 million downloads in the same quarter, an increase of 27 percent over last year.

“Sports fans consume audio across multiple platforms and the compelling content that ESPN Audio offers through streaming and podcasts is making an impact on listening,” said Traug Keller, ESPN senior vice president, production business divisions.

More than five billion minutes of audio have been streamed across the ESPN Radio Network in the first six months of 2015, up 31 percent from 2014.  ESPN Audio podcasts have been downloaded more than 176 million times in 2015, also an increase of 31 percent over ESPN on Demand usage in 2014.

The College Football Playoff, NBA regular season and playoffs and Major League Baseball have contributed to the increase in streaming this year.
