iHeartMedia Restructures Programming

The four-year old National Programming Platforms team at iHeartMedia is getting an overhaul, which NPP president Tom Poleman Thursday told staff the changes will allow the unit to become more integrated into the company’s local brands.

The move will bring iHeart’s executive and senior vice presidents of programming into NPP.  Two executives will also get expanded roles.
  • VP Marc Chase will oversee iHeart’s brand management team.
  • SVP Maynard Cohen will head up its programming strategic review team.
According to iHM spokesperson Angel Aristone explained, "Over the past several months, the EVPO's and Tom have been collaborating on ways for NPP to become even more integrated with our local brands, so NPP have adjusted their structure to include E/SVPPs. In an effort to streamline communication with stations, E/SVPPs will now be integrated into NPP and be the primary point of programming contact with local stations and markets. This is in an effort to place more control in the hands of markets, while streamlining communication with the company's programming personnel. The E/SVPPs will work directly with Market Presidents and the VPP/Operations Managers to develop programming action plans that utilize all the programming assets iHeartMedia has to offer."
