Anchor Candy Crowley Leaving CNN

Veteran CNN anchor Candy Crowley is leaving the network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,  CNN president Jeff Zucker announced her departure in a staff memo on Friday. Crowley's future plans and a departure date weren't revealed.

Crowley currently serves as CNN's chief political correspondent and anchor of its Sunday morning show State of the Union with Candy Crowley. She most notably was the network's choice in 2012 to moderate the CNN-hosted presidential debate between President Obama and then-candidate Mitt Romney.

She's been with CNN since 1987, hosting State of the Union since 2010. In 2012 she became the first woman to moderate a presidential debate in two decades. She's covered the campaigns of every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan and since the nomination of Jimmy Carter, she's covered all but one of the national political conventions. Sh also covers presidential, congressional and gubernatorial elections and major legislative developments on Capitol Hill.
