Twin Cities Radio: John Lassman Named PD At KXXR

John Lassman
Cumulus Media has announced that John Lassman has been appointed Program Director of KXXR in Minneapolis.

Lassman moves from TownSquare Buffalo, where he was Regional Operations Manager, Brand Manager of WJYE and WBUF and Buffalo Operations Manager. He replaces Wade Linder who was transferred to Cumulus Chicago.

A native of Minneapolis, Lassman was Assistant Program Director at sister station KQRS nearly 25 years ago, before being promoted to Program Director of 93.7 The EDGE and Zone 105. He then served WRIF Detroit as Director of Marketing, followed by stints as Program Director of WRXL Richmond and Director of FM Programming for CBS Radio/Minneapolis.

Troy Hanson, Corporate Program Director/Rock Formats of Cumulus Media, said: “Minneapolis has always produced some of the best radio stations and talent out there. Today we scored a big win for Minnesota with the return of Johnny Rock Lassman. Go Vikings!”

Scott Jameson, Corporate Programmer and Operations Manager of KQRS/KXXR/WGVX said: “John’s market equity in the Twin Cities and his strong Rock background make him a perfect choice to lead 93X.”

Lassman said: “Returning to my hometown of Minneapolis/St. Paul has been a goal of mine for some time. The opportunity to join Cumulus and to help keep 93X dominant was too good to pass up. Wade Linder has done an incredible job with the station and we are poised for continued success. Thanks to John Dickey, Mike McVay, Troy Hanson and Scott Jameson for having faith in my abilities. Now, may I interest you in a pair of Buffalo Bills season tickets?”
