Tim Augustine, longtime Varnado, LA cable television personality and radio station
sales representative, has been arrested on a warrant issued after an
investigation prompted by a complaint from the radio station, WBOX.
According to gobogalusa.com, he was
charged with theft over $1,500.
The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office received the
complaint on June 7 after WBOX found “gross discrepancies in their bookkeeping
records,” and “a lengthy criminal
investigation” was initiated.
“The investigation, in part, revealed numerous clients
paying for advertising services with checks to WBOX,” Haley said. “These checks
were collected by then WBOX employee Timothy Augustine, who instructed the
clients to just make the checks payable in his name.
“These checks were cashed, but the payments were never
received by WBOX. The investigation concluded with a warrant being issued for
the arrest of Augustine for one count of theft over $1,500.”
