JT Sends 'SNL' To Highest Ratings In 14 Months

This weekend's host/musical guest powered the NBC show to its highest ratings in 14 months, the network announced Sunday afternoon, reports media write Hal Boedeker at The Orlando Sentinel.

The Timberlake episode earned a 5.9 household rating in metered markets, the best "SNL" showing since Jan. 7, 2012, when Charles Barkley hosted and Kelly Clarkson was musical guest. That episode also followed an NFL playoff game.

Timberlake had no help from the NFL, but many stars popped in to celebrate him for hosting "SNL" for the fifth time. His monologue featured Candice Bergen, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Martin Short and original cast members Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd. Andy Samberg returned for several sketches, and Jay-Z joined Timberlake on performing "Suit & Tie."
