Since its debut in May 2025, ABC’s daily streaming program Burden of Proof: The Case Against Diddy has attracted 16 million video starts across YouTube and ABC News Live, covering the trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Hosted by GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim, alongside chief investigative correspondent Aaron Katersky and legal contributor Brian Buckmire, the show streams daily, offering in-depth analysis of courtroom developments in Combs’ federal trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Forbes reports Pilgrim emphasized the program’s commitment to clarity and sensitivity, stating, “Our aim is to keep viewers informed with accurate, thoughtful real-time coverage. We focus on the victims’ and survivors’ experiences, handling their stories with the care they deserve.”
The trial has featured intense testimony, including from Combs’ former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, who spoke for four days about alleged sex trafficking and physical abuse, corroborated by a Los Angeles hotel surveillance video. Other women, some using pseudonyms, have also testified about non-consensual encounters.
The show’s peak viewership came on May 15, Ventura’s final testimony day, with 1.8 million views, followed by 1.7 million on May 12, her first day on the stand.
Seni Tienabeso, vice president of ABC News Live and Specialized Units, noted, “The strong engagement reflects the public’s intense interest. We remain dedicated to reporting with integrity, respecting the gravity of the allegations and the courage of those who’ve come forward.”
