TV Ratings: Of All TV, FNC is Second Most-Watched Network


During the week of August 5 - August 11, FOX News Channel (FNC) was number two in all of television in primetime, right behind Olympics coverage. 

FNC also marked 31 consecutive weeks leading cable television with total day viewers. FNC once again outpaced CNN and MSNBC combined with primetime in all categories, reaching double-digit advantages across the board, marking the 182nd consecutive week that it has been cable news' most-watched network across total day. 


In primetime (8-11 PM/ET): FNC earned 2.4 million viewers and 301,000 in the 25-54 demo, commanding all of cable with viewers. In total day (6AM-6AM/ET), FNC posted 1.5 million viewers and 191,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Five was the top show of the week, securing 3.4 million viewers, while Hannity was most watched among the 25-54 demo (368,000 A25-54). FNC delivered 50% share with total day viewers and 53% with primetime viewers across cable news.
  • For the week: The Five averaged 3.4 million viewers and 356,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched show of the week with viewers. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.3 million viewers and 270,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.4 million viewers and 271,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. At 8 PM/ET, Jesse Watters Primetime delivered 3.1 million viewers and 360,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.7 million viewers and 368,000 with A25-54, making it the highest-rated show of the week in the 25-54 demo. At 10 PM/ET FOX News Channel’s Gutfeld! averaged 2.6 million viewers and 361,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.4 million viewers and 225,000 in the 25-54 demo.
  • Daytime: FNC also saw a number of its daytime programs outrank the broadcast competition. Most notably, Harris Faulkner’s Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,943,000 P2+) and The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,791,000 P2+), America Reports with Sandra Smith and John Roberts (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,766,000), America’s Newsroom with Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,754,000 P2+) and The Story with Martha MacCallum (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1.7 million P2+) all outpaced ABC’s GMA3 (1,259,000 P2+).
  • On Saturday: One Nation (Saturdays, 9 PM/ET) was the most-watched show of the day with 1,368,000 viewers (142,000 in the 25-54 demo), while CAVUTO Live (Saturday, 10 AM-12 PM/ET) was most-watched among the younger demo (169,000 A25-54; 1.3 million P2+). The Big Weekend Show (weekdays, 7 PM/ET) posted 1.3 million viewers (141,000 A25-54), and FOX News Saturday Night with Jimmy Failla (Saturday, 10 PM/ET) posted 1 million viewers and 123,000 in the 25-54 demo leading the competition combined.
  • On Sunday: Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) was the top show of the day with 1.8 million viewers (181,000 A25-54). The Big Weekend Show (Sundays, 7 PM/ET) led viewers with the younger demo nabbing 204,000 (1.6 million viewers). Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sundays, 10 AM/ET) drew in 1.6 million viewers and 183,000 in the 25-54 demo. Sunday Night in America (Sundays, 9 PM/ET) was the second most-watched program with viewers, grabbing 1.8 million viewers and 192,000 in the 25-54 demo.
